Enkopur in Röbel
Tried and tested for over 30 years on a 4,000 m² flat roof

Even today, this project report reads like a real-world long-term test. In Röbel, the approximately 4,000 m² of flat roof areas in a striking housing estate were refurbished over 30 years ago using our Enkopur liquid-applied waterproofing system. At the time, the project was one of the first large-scale applications of liquid plastic in Germany. Today, it is clear that the decision taken back then has reliably protected the buildings for decades and has proved its worth in every respect.

One of the first Enkopur large-area waterproofing systems, and still reliable today

Even in the early years of Liquid plastic’s use in Germany, the decision was taken in Röbel to carry out waterproofing on the flat roofs of this unique housing estate using Enkopur. At the time, the refurbishment project, covering around 4,000 m², was one of the largest ever carried out using Enkopur or any liquid polymer system at all. The decisive factors then, as now, were clear practical considerations: cost-effectiveness, ease of application and, above all, long-term reliability.

For over 30 years, Enkopur has reliably protected the roof surfaces from wind and weather. It was only after this long service life that the need arose to refurbish the first sections. The roofing company Thomas Müller GmbH from Malchow once again consistently opted for Enkopur, as the system had already proven its performance on this building. The first 800 m² of sections have now been successfully completed, laying the foundation for the next long service life.

The ETA (European Technical Assessment) also underscores the durability of our liquid polymer systems. With the highest classification, W3, an expected service life of 25 years is certified. This project clearly demonstrates that Enkopur can deliver even better results in practice. Real-world projects like this one are our benchmark. For 100 years.
