Enketop is a high-quality balcony and patio coating for outdoor surfaces designed for long-term foot traffic. As a functional complement to Enkopur, Enketop ensures a surface that remains reliable over the long term – robust, UV-resistant and visually appealing. By incorporating coloured Enke plastic chips or Enke chips, terraces and balconies can be customised to suit individual tastes. The vapour-permeable surface not only offers protection against the elements but also ensures maximum comfort of use. This applies to both private and commercial applications.
Enketop is ideal for refurbishments and new builds, where visual quality meets technical performance.

Enketop impresses with its ease of installation and versatile design options
Enketop is both practical and versatile to use: the material can be applied safely, cleanly and cost-effectively directly onto a fully cured Enkopur surface – even on complex surfaces or under challenging renovation conditions.
- Single component – can be applied straight from the container
- Can be applied cold – no open flame, no welding
- Apply with a notched trowel, smoothing trowel or lambskin roller
- Even de-aeration with a spiked roller for a perfect finish
- Can be combined with Enketop Accelerator – for a shorter curing time
The result: a hard-wearing, vapour-permeable and decoratively customisable wear layer – ideal for refurbishment of existing buildings and long-term outdoor use.
Enketop is a walkable wear and protective layer for outdoor balconies, terraces and loggias.
It is not used as a waterproofing layer in its own right, but is applied over a previously installed Enkopur waterproofing layer.
Enketop is not suitable for use without a functional waterproofing layer.
Enketop is applied directly onto the cured Enkopur waterproofing layer.
Suitable substrates are therefore all surfaces that have been properly waterproofed using Enkopur and Polyflex fleece.
Mineral substrates, old tiles or screeds must be fully waterproofed beforehand – Enketop does not replace a waterproofing layer.
Enketop is a single component product and is applied cold using a notched trowel, a finishing trowel or a lambswool roller.
The following is essential for the quality of the finish:
- uniform layer thickness (approx. 2.0–3.0 kg/m²)
- de-airing without pressure using a spiked roller
- Apply only to dry, fully cured Enkopur surfaces
Moisture in the substrate can lead to blistering.
Enketop is:
- permanently elastic (remains flexible at temperatures as low as –30 °C)
- Resistance to temperature changes up to 80 °C
- UV- and weather-resistant
- vapour-permeable (µ ≈ 3000), allowing moisture to escape from the substrate
This combination makes Enketop particularly suitable for outdoor surfaces subject to heavy foot traffic and significant temperature fluctuations.
The appearance is controlled by scattering the material into the fresh Enketop layer:
- partial incorporation of Enke plastic chips (approx. 10–80 g/m²)
- full-surface incorporation of Enke chips or Enke QuarzColor
- followed by Sealing with Enketop sealer
This allows both safety in use and design to be tailored specifically to the project.
