Enke Betoncoat 2K Aqua Primer, 5-litre bucket

Betoncoat 2K Aqua Primer
Maximum adhesion on smooth surfaces

Product information

If mineral substrates are particularly smooth, non-porous or have already been coated with reactive resins, a primer specifically tailored to these conditions is required. Betoncoat Primer 2K Aqua was developed precisely for this purpose – as a water-based reactive primer, it offers excellent adhesion even on difficult substrates and serves as the ideal basis for subsequent Betoncoat coatings and Sealing.

The two components ensure reliable adhesion, even where existing polyurethane or epoxy resin coatings are present. At the same time, it is low-emission and allows for safe application indoors.

Highly effective at adhering – clever to work with

Where other primers reach their limits, Betoncoat 2K Aqua Primer really comes into its own. Specially developed for smooth or previously coated substrates, it reliably creates a bond between the existing surface and the subsequent system layers. The water-based formula ensures easy application – low-emission, high-adhesion and efficient.

Product benefits at a glance:

  • Excellent adhesion to smooth mineral substrates and existing coatings
  • Water-based & low-emission – ideal for indoor use and sensitive areas
  • Universally applicable within the Betoncoat system – perfectly matched to PUR and EP coatings
  • Easy to apply with a roller – quick, safe and economical
  • High-quality finish thanks to a defined pot life and uniform film formation
  • White pigmented – good visibility during application and even coverage

Frequently Asked Questions

Betoncoat Primer 2K Aqua is a water-emulsified, soivent free epoxy resin primer. It is used as a bonding primer on particularly smooth or dense substrates, e.g. existing epoxy or polyurethane coatings, tiles, metals and smooth mineral surfaces. This makes it ideal for refurbishment work on existing structures.

2K Aqua is the preferred choice when:

  • soivent free working is required (e.g. indoor areas, sensitive areas),
  • low odour levels are important,
  • or existing coatings need to be safely recoated.

Compared to conventional 2K primers, it offers similar adhesion properties, but with significantly improved application properties and environmental compatibility.

All substrates must be sound, free from grease and clean.
Where existing coatings are present, thorough cleaning and, if necessary, sanding are required. Particular care must be taken to ensure that surfaces on tiles or metals are clean and free from grease. For unknown substrates, adhesion tests are recommended.

Components A and B are mixed thoroughly in a ratio of 1 : 1 (by weight). The product is applied using a lambswool roller.
The working time is approx. 30 minutes at 20 °C. Coverage is approx. 200–300 g/m², depending on the condition of the substrate.

Although the product is soivent free, it is a reactive epoxy resin system. Protective gloves, safety goggles and suitable work clothing must be worn.
Curing is a chemical process; further coating is possible once the product has cured sufficiently, in accordance with the system specification. Please observe the instructions in the safety data sheet.
