Frequently Asked Questions

Enke Polyflex fleece is a crack-bridging reinforcement membrane for Enke liquid polymer waterproofing systems such as Enkopur and Enkryl. It provides mechanical reinforcement, ensures uniform layer thicknesses and delivers a permanently secure waterproofing, particularly in areas where connections and details are critical.

Polyflex fleece is used for:

  • Flat roofs
  • Balconies, terraces and pergolas
  • Parapets, wall connections, penetrations, gutters
  • Areas subject to movement, complex geometry or a risk of cracking

It is not a loose protective fleece and must not be used without being fully impregnated with Liquid plastic.

Unlike thin polyester fabric, Polyflex fleece is a soft, needle-punched polyester non-woven (110 g/m²). This means it can be:

  • be moulded to fit uneven surfaces precisely
  • be impregnated without forming bubbles
  • be processed reliably even with complex details

This is crucial for the functional reliability of connections where rigid fabrics reach their limits.

The fleece is laid over the entire surface of the fresh first layer of Liquid plastic and then thoroughly saturated.

Key practical points:

  • Overlap approx. 10 cm
  • Consumption: approx. 1.1 m of fleece per m²
  • No creases or voids
  • The fleece must not be left to dry

Pre-formed parts, collars and combination fleece are available to save time.

Polyflex fleece is:

  • not subject to labelling requirements
  • not hazardous to water
  • odourless and harmless to health

It should be stored in a dry place and, when stored correctly, has a virtually unlimited shelf life.
Cutting it to size may produce fibres – standard work gloves are sufficient.
