Enkopur®
Seamless and long-lasting protection against damp on roofs, balconies and terraces

Product information

Enkopur is the tried-and-tested liquid plastic for waterproofing roof surfaces, balconies and terraces, even in high-stress connection areas. This single component waterproofing system offers lasting protection against moisture, even in the presence of standing water or adverse weather conditions. Even in areas where standing water is present for extended periods, Enkopur reliably and permanently performs waterproofing on all surfaces, problem areas and joints – seamlessly and without any weak points.

When used in combination with Enke Polyflex fleece, it creates an elastic, long-lasting, all-weather membrane that adapts flexibly to any geometry, completely free of seams, joints or leaks.

Reliable in use:
even when the weather changes

Enkopur impresses not only with its waterproofing performance, but also with its practical application:

  • Single component – no mixing required
  • Self-vulcanising – cures on contact with atmospheric moisture
  • Rainproof after approx. 2 hours at 20 °C and 60 % relative humidity
  • Applied cold – no open flame, no welding
  • Can be applied quickly and safely even in changing weather conditions
  • With ETA approval (ETA – 16/0981) – for maximum safety

The result: no need for extended application times, and the risk of failure is minimised – a real advantage for refurbishment projects in existing buildings.

Frequently Asked Questions

Enkopur adheres reliably to concrete, screed, mastic asphalt, bituminous membranes, metal, foil and plastic roofing, wood-based composites and tiles (after sanding). In the case of unknown or problematic substrates, an adhesion test should be carried out

Yes, Enkopur is generally applied with a suitable Primer. The options include Universal Primer 2K, Universal Primer 933, Primer P-O (for polyolefins) or Enke Glass Primer (for glass and glazed tiles). The choice depends on the substrate.

The surface must be dry. Once applied, Enkopur is rainproof very quickly. Even light drizzle shortly after application does not affect the waterproofing.

The ideal temperature range is between +5 °C and +30 °C. Work should not be carried out when temperatures are rising rapidly or in direct sunlight.

The fleece acts as a crack-bridging layer and ensures the long-term reliability of the system. Enkopur without a fleece insert is not a waterproofing system, but merely a coat of paint.

No, not without additional protection. Enkopur is not sufficiently alkali-stable for use with cement-based tile adhesives. An alkali barrier layer (Betoncoat 2K primer + quartz sand) must therefore be applied beforehand.

Yes, Enkopur can also be used in areas where water is likely to stand for long periods.

Yes, the waterproofing on balconies and terraces must not be left unprotected. A wear layer is required, e.g. Enketop, Enkefloor slabs, slab coverings laid on a gravel bed or wooden decking.
