Enke Multi Protect (EMP)
Surface protection for metal, plastic and more

Product information

Enke Multi Protect, or EMP for short, provides reliable protection against corrosion for sensitive components – it is durable, UV-stable and can be customised to suit any aesthetic. Whether it’s downpipes, gutters, eaves flashing or specific areas on roofs: EMP is the perfect coating for anyone wishing to combine long-lasting protection with design flexibility.

This high-quality surface protection is suitable for a wide range of substrates – including Enkopur and Enkryl. Available in a variety of colours, EMP can be discreetly integrated into the roof environment whilst providing additional resistance to aggressive environmental influences.

Frequently Asked Questions

Enke Multi Protect is a surface and anti-corrosion coating, not a waterproofing product. The product is used to protect gutters, downpipes, eaves flashings, metal components and exposed Enkopur and Enkryl waterproofing membranes. In the event of leaks or persistent damp, a proper waterproofing system – e.g. using Enkopur and Polyflex fleece – must be installed first.

EMP adheres reliably over the long term to new, weathered and pre-weathered metal surfaces, as well as to plastic surfaces, wood-based materials, fibre cement and Enkopur and Enkryl waterproofing membranes. On new, grease-free metals, a Primer is not usually necessary. In the case of old coatings or unknown substrates, an adhesion test is recommended.

Yes. A single, opaque coat is usually sufficient to provide UV-stable, long-term protection against aggressive environmental factors and bitumen corrosion. This is subject to the product being applied evenly and the recommended application rate of approx. 140 ml/m² (≈ 200 g/m²).

During application, strong sunlight and high surface temperatures should be avoided. EMP is applied undiluted using a brush or a short-pile roller. The surface must be dry, clean and free from loose old coatings. Tools should be cleaned with EnkoClean. The drying time is approx. 1–2 hours at 20 °C.

Metal parts beneath bituminous roofing are susceptible to corrosion caused by oxidising acids, which result from leached bitumen degradation products. Enke Multi Protect forms a durable protective film that reliably shields the metal surface from these acids, thereby preventing premature corrosion damage and the associated replacement costs.
