Enketop sealing is the ideal finishing product for decorative balcony and terrace surfaces based on Enketop Basis. Whether smooth or slip-resistant – the transparent single-component polyurethane sealant reliably protects the chip finish against abrasion, UV radiation and the elements. The surface remains elastic, lightfast and easy to maintain – even under heavy use.
Particularly in outdoor areas, sealing ensures durability and safety – visually unobtrusive, yet highly functional.

The benefits of Enketop Sealing
As the final layer in the system, the Enketop sealing plays a crucial role. Not only does it protect the surface from external influences, but it also contributes significantly to the long-term functionality and high-quality appearance of the finished surface.

- Abrasion-resistant and tough yet flexible – even with temperature fluctuations
- Slip resistance can be adjusted – depending on the intended use and requirements

The result: a robust, low-maintenance wear layer with a clear protective function – aesthetically understated, functionally impressive.
The Enketop sealing is the final protective layer on decorative Enketop surfaces.
It reliably protects the chip or quartz finish against abrasion, UV radiation and the elements, and ensures the surface remains usable in the long term.
Without sealing, a decorative Enketop surface cannot withstand long-term wear and tear.
The slip resistance is adjusted by controlling the amount used, the application technique and, where necessary, the addition of extra material:
- smooth: for private balconies and terraces with normal use
- slip-resistant: for commercially used areas, pergolas or areas with high levels of moisture
The sealing remains transparent and alters the appearance of the chips only minimally.
The sealing product is a single component product and is applied cold using a velour roller directly from the container.
Key practical points:
- The Enketop surface must be fully cured, clean and dry
- Apply evenly without leaving puddles
- Coverage approx. 250–700 g/m², depending on the finish and desired slip resistance
A skin forms after approx. 1 hour; the surface is ready for foot traffic after 6–8 hours at 20 °C.
Enketop sealing is:
- viscoplastic (Shore D hardness approx. 50)
- UV- and weather-resistant
- abrasion-resistant even under mechanical stress
- temperature-stable and designed for long-term outdoor use
This ensures that the surface remains functional even in the face of temperature fluctuations and intensive use.
Enketop sealing is flammable and contains isocyanates:
- Apply only in well-ventilated areas
- Wear gloves, eye protection and suitable PPE
- Do not allow to enter watercourses or the sewerage system (WGK 2)
Store in a cool, dry and frost-free place in the original sealed container (stable for at least 6 months).
Uncured residues are classified as hazardous waste; empty metal containers can be sent for KBS recycling.
