Enke Primer P-O is a transparent, solvent-based bonding agent specifically designed for polyolefin-based plastic roofing membranes. It is used as a primer for Enke roof waterproofing systems on membranes such as EPDM, FPO, TPO, TPE or PIB, to ensure permanent adhesion of the liquid plastic waterproofing materials.

The P-O primer is always required when:

• work is being carried out on polyolefin synthetic roofing membranes,
• the substrate is smooth and non-absorbent,
• waterproofing is to be carried out using Enke liquid plastics (e.g. Enkopur, Enkryl).

As adhesion depends heavily on the condition of the membrane following exposure to the elements, adhesion tests are strongly recommended for older or unknown membranes.

Apply using a solvent-resistant roller or a brush.
In summer temperatures, the Primer is dry after approximately 30 minutes and can then be covered directly with Enke roof waterproofing.
Important: Apply a thin, even coat – applying too thick a layer will impair adhesion.

Consumption is approximately 50–100 g/m², depending on:

• the surface texture of the plastic sheeting
• Condition (new, pre-weathered, heavily weathered)

The aim is to achieve an even, continuous film without shiny patches or puddles.

Enke P-O primer is flammable and harmful to health if it comes into contact with the skin or is inhaled.
The following are required:

• Application only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area
• Protective gloves, safety goggles and suitable work clothing
• Keep well away from sources of ignition at all times

The product is classified as WGK 2 (significantly hazardous to water). The instructions in the safety data sheet must be strictly observed.
