Enkryl Adhesion Table

Enkryl excels in every situation:
Performs well in heat, frost and persistent rain.

Whether on a flat roof, a terrace or in specific areas: Enkryl delivers where other systems reach their limits. This liquid roof waterproofing is not only quick to apply, but also offers genuine long-term benefits – particularly in extreme weather conditions. As part of a well-designed system, Enkryl is the reliable solution for durable, breathable and temperature-stable waterproofing.

Advantages of Enkryl at a glance:

  • Single component & ready to use – no mixing required, ready for immediate application
  • Plasticiser- and soivent free – ideal for sensitive environments such as hospitals or schools
  • Resistance to temperature changes from –30 °C to +100 °C – permanently elastic in all weather conditions
  • Reflective surface – reduces heat build-up thanks to its light colour
  • Excellent vapour permeability – allows damp substrates to dry out
  • Resistant to flying sparks and radiant heat – ideal for roofs subject to particular stress
  • With Enke Polyflex fleece, it bridges cracks and provides a seamless seal – even with complex details
  • Walkable after approx. 15 hours (at 20 °C) – ready for further work quickly
  • With ETA approval (ETA – 16/0981) – for maximum safety

Enkryl is the ideal solution for roof renovations where reliability, weather resistance and ease of application are required – without compromising on environmental or safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Enkryl is a single component, water-vapour-permeable liquid plastic for waterproofing:

  • flat roofs with sufficient slope
  • Balconies and terraces
  • Connection details such as parapets, penetrations and drains

Important:
Enkryl must not be used on surfaces without controlled water drainage. Standing water is incompatible with the system. Other Enke systems are designed for surfaces subject to permanent water exposure.

Enkryl has an exceptionally high water vapour diffusion rate (μ ≈ 2,400).
This allows residual moisture to escape upwards from the roof structure, whilst the waterproofing remains permanently watertight.

This makes Enkryl particularly suitable for:

  • Renovations of existing buildings
  • Roofs with damp-affected insulation layers
  • Situations where complete demolition is not possible or economically viable

No.
Application without Enke Polyflex fleece does not constitute waterproofing, but is merely a coat of paint.
Only the combination of:

  • Primer
  • Enkryl
  • Enke Polyflex fleece insert
  • Enkryl top coat

results in a regulation-compliant, crack-bridging waterproofing system.
The fleece must be embedded without creases or voids, with at least a 5 cm overlap at joints.

Enkryl is water-based and dries by releasing water into the atmosphere.
Therefore:

  • Application only at temperatures of +10 °C or above
  • dry weather is required
  • in high heat, the substrate and fleece may be lightly pre-wetted to delay skin formation

Depending on the weather conditions, Enkryl is:

  • rainproof after 8–10 hours
  • can be walked on after 1–2 days

Low temperatures, high humidity or thick application layers significantly prolong the drying time.

Enkryl remains permanently elastic from approx. –30 °C to +100 °C and does not become brittle.
Its light colour reflects a large proportion of the sun’s rays, meaning the roof surface heats up less.

In addition, a self-cleaning effect caused by slight chalking ensures that the surface remains light in colour over the long term – a clear advantage for:

  • summer heat protection
  • reducing the temperature in the rooms below

To ensure the system is watertight
Enke Polyflex fleece as a reinforcement layer

When crack bridging, dimensional stability and system integrity are key, Enke Polyflex fleece is the ideal complement to Enke’s liquid plastics. The non-woven-reinforced insert material is embedded in the waterproofing and ensures a uniform layer thickness – even with complex detail connections, edges or penetrations.
Non-woven fabric plus Liquid plastic = long-term reliability.
For anyone who refuses to compromise on workmanship.
