Concrete primer
Highly adhesive, low-emission and versatile

Product information

Enke Beton Primer is a solvent- and plasticiser-free, single component acrylic-based polymer dispersion. This low-viscosity primer is ideal for all mineral substrates, particularly where the use of solvents is to be deliberately avoided – for example, in sensitive areas or where strict environmental regulations apply.

Typical applications include weathered bituminous membranes, concrete, masonry or cement screeds. The primer provides a reliable bonding bridge, reduces the absorbency of the substrate and improves the application of subsequent waterproofing layers and coatings. Thanks to its ease of application with a roller or brush and its fast drying time, Enke Concrete Primer is ideally suited to many indoor and outdoor applications.

Note:

The primer is not suitable as a stand-alone waterproofing layer, but serves solely as a bonding agent beneath Enkopur, Enkolan or Betoncoat systems.

Reliable primer:
Soivent free, safe, suitable for a wide range of applications

Enke Concrete Primer ensures a surface with long-lasting adhesion – whether on fresh concrete, aged bitumen or absorbent masonry. Its low-emission formulation also allows it to be used in sensitive areas such as underground car parks, logistics facilities or adjacent residential areas.

Key benefits at a glance:

  • Soivent free & plasticiser-free – environmentally friendly and low-odour
  • Versatile – suitable for concrete, screed, masonry, old bitumen membranes and much more
  • Excellent adhesion – reliable bond with subsequent waterproofing layers
  • Quick-drying – short waiting times, efficient construction process
  • Can be applied by roller or brush – easy to apply without specialist equipment
  • Deep-penetrating & consolidating – stabilises chalking or porous substrates
  • Low-emission in accordance with GISCODE D1 – suitable for indoor areas with strict requirements
  • Water-dilutable – can also be applied in diluted form depending on the substrate
  • Compatible with Enkopur, Enkolan and Betoncoat systems

Frequently Asked Questions

Enke Concrete Primer is a solvent- and plasticiser-free, single component acrylic-based polymer dispersion. It is primarily used as a bonding primer on mineral substrates such as concrete and cement screed, as well as on weathered bituminous membranes, where a soivent free system is required.

The concrete primer is ideal when:

  • work is being carried out indoors or in sensitive environments,
  • solvents must not be used,
  • mineral substrates require a uniform bonding layer.

It is the right alternative to solvent-based Primers when environmental and occupational safety are the main priorities.

Apply using a lambskin roller or a brush.
The drying time is approximately 1–3 hours, depending on the temperature and the absorbency of the substrate. There is no fixed interval for re-coating – the surface can be recoated at a later date without any problems.

Consumption is approximately 200–400 g/m², depending on:

  • the porosity of the substrate
  • Surface texture

The aim is to achieve an even, continuous film without any gaps. Applying the product too thinly may impair adhesion, whilst applying it too thickly will prolong the drying time.

Enke Concrete Primer is not subject to labelling requirements and is not classified as hazardous under the CLP Regulation.

Important:

  • protect from frost
  • Store containers tightly sealed
  • Avoid discharge into the sewerage system or watercourses

The instructions in the safety data sheet must be followed.
