Enke Betoncoat Elastic A 25kg bucket

Betoncoat Elastic Membrane
Flexible waterproofing in the floor coating system

Product information

The Betoncoat Elastic Membrane is the ideal solution for areas subject to dynamic loads – for example, on vibrating substrates or in expansion joints in the floor. As a highly elastic intermediate layer within the Betoncoat system, it reliably compensates for movement and prevents cracks from penetrating the Coating. This two-component, polyurethane-based membrane impresses with its flexibility, high adhesion and excellent system compatibility – with both PUR and EP coatings.

Seamless integration into the Betoncoat complete system

The ideal solution for floor areas subject to dynamic loads
Product benefits of the Betoncoat Elastic Membrane – greater protection against the risk of cracking

The Betoncoat Elastic Membrane has been specifically developed for floor surfaces subject to high levels of movement. As an elastic intermediate layer within the system, it provides permanent crack-bridging properties and reliably protects the subsequent coatings. The membrane proves its worth as a crucial component of the Betoncoat system, particularly in concrete structures with joints, transitions or slight settlement movements.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Crack-bridging & elastic – ideal for substrates subject to movement or micro-cracks
  • Permanently flexible – reliably compensates for dynamic loads
  • System-compatible – tailored to all Betoncoat coatings (PUR & EP)
  • Highly adhesive – excellent bond to mineral substrates
  • Easy to apply – can be applied with a trowel or squeegee
  • Short recoating time – can be overcoated after approx. 24 hours at 20 °C

Frequently Asked Questions

The Betoncoat Elasticmembran is a highly elastic, self-levelling polyurethane-based intermediate layer. It is used to create crack-bridging Betoncoat coating systems. Particularly on substrates prone to cracking or subject to movement, it ensures that cracks do not penetrate the wearing course.

The elastic membrane is used when:

  • cracking of the substrate is to be expected,
  • movement or stress occurs (e.g. industrial floors),
  • or a coating capable of permanently bridging cracks is required.

It is not a substitute for substrate remediation, but rather a systematic safeguard against subsequent cracking.

No. Thanks to its very high tear resistance, the Betoncoat Elastic membrane does not require an additional polyester fleece insert. This simplifies the system installation and reduces the amount of work involved, without compromising functionality.

The Elasticmembran consists of components A and B, which are mixed homogeneously in the specified mixing ratio. It is applied as a self-levelling compound using a notched trowel, smoothing trowel or squeegee.
The working time is approximately 30 minutes at 20 °C. Coverage is at least 2.2 kg/m² or approximately 1.1 kg/m² per mm of layer thickness, depending on the system configuration.

Yes. The Betoncoat Elastic Membrane is not a wearing course and must be overlaid with Betoncoat PUR Coating. Only this system configuration ensures the required mechanical strength, abrasion resistance and durability of the surface.
