ENKOLIT Installation
Metal covers bonded with ENKOLIT remain securely in place and do not rattle. No rattling, no rumbling and no thermal bridges caused by mechanical fixing points. To ensure the bond works reliably, there are a few basic rules to follow. The following step-by-step guide summarises the most important points for the safe application of ENKOLIT.

Step by step towards safe execution
1. Preparing the substrate
Any loose material must be completely removed. Larger uneven areas should be levelled out beforehand so that the covering lies flat later on and the adhesive layer can work evenly. It is also important to note that the minimum application temperature is 5 degrees.
2. Applying Enkolit
Enkolit is applied in an even layer, typically at a rate of 2 to 3 kg per square metre. On uneven surfaces, up to 5 kg per square metre may be required. The adhesive layer is then textured lengthways using the Enke grooved spreader. This allows any trapped air to escape when the covering is pressed down, ensuring full surface contact.
3. Insert and press down the metal sheets
Joint sheets are pressed firmly into the adhesive layer. Enkolit should also be applied to the joint sheets, but not in the centre, so as not to obstruct water drainage. The cover is then hooked into place and the sheet is pressed down firmly and evenly. A rubber roller is suitable for applying even pressure. This involves smoothing the air out from the inside towards the outside.
4. Notes for sloping and vertical surfaces
On sloping surfaces, a mechanical safeguard against slipping is required; one fixing point is usually sufficient. On vertical surfaces, Enkolit is used only as an additional fastening.
