Enkolan and Enketop chips at Rohr Monastery
Restoration of the historic fountain
Water belongs in the fountain, not underneath it. To ensure that the historic fountain at the Kloster Gymnasium in Rohr remains permanently watertight, the client opted for a tried-and-tested system from Enke. In collaboration with Alex Hauser of Rohr, a robust, durable structure was created that combines waterproofing with aesthetic design. The surface was finished with chips and then sealed.

Waterproofing, aesthetics and protection all in one
When Alex Hauser was commissioned to perform the waterproofing of the well at Rohr Monastery, it quickly became clear that the surface posed particular challenges in terms of materials and workmanship. Following an on-site visit with ENKE field engineer Markus Meinel, a suitable renovation plan was drawn up, tailored to the area of around 16 m².
The Enkolan waterproofing system was used. It stands out for its straightforward application without the need for a Primer, as well as its high flexibility and durability. First, the surface was waterproofed with Enkolan 1K LF. For reinforcement, Enke Polyflex fleece was incorporated into the system as specified.
This was followed by the application of Enkolan Coating 1K LF as a decorative and protective layer. The entire surface was then sprinkled with Enketop Chips. This ensures a high-quality finish whilst also increasing mechanical strength. The final step was the application of Enkolan Sealing 1K LF. This provides long-lasting protection for the surface and completes the overall appearance.
The result has impressed everyone involved. The client, the installers from Alex Hauser and the Enke team were all very satisfied. The project demonstrates how effectively Liquid plastic can be used even on smaller surfaces, provided the system and the installation are well-suited to one another.
