Enkopur on PVC roofing membrane

On a construction project in the Rhineland, a roofing contractor was faced with a typical detailed task carrying a high level of responsibility. Numerous site-specific features were to be retrofitted into an existing PVC roof waterproofing system, ensuring a permanently watertight and neat finish. Enke’s field service team recommended a solution using the Enkopur system. The result is a secure detailed waterproofing solution that can be implemented efficiently and functions reliably even when repeated many times.
Waterproofing flashings made of hot-dip galvanised steel on PVC roofing membrane using Enkopur and Polyflex fleece
A total of around 40 support brackets made of 15 mm-thick, hot-dip galvanised steel protruded from the rising structural element. The surface waterproofing consisted of a 1.8 mm-thick PVC membrane, which was laid and bonded to the rising structural element. To prepare the details, the work area was first carefully masked off. The PVC membrane and metal brackets were then sanded down and primed with Universal Primer 2K.
Whilst the primer was curing, the non-woven fabric cut-to-size pieces were prepared. These comprised a wrap-around piece for the long sides, a flange piece and two outer corners made on-site from Enke Polyflex fleece. The waterproofing process then began using Enkopur. First, approximately two-thirds of the material was applied, the fleece was laid in place and pressed down to remove any air bubbles. Finally, the top coat was applied and the detail waterproofing was sealed.
This solution stands out for its clear procedure, cost-effective implementation and a permanently high level of integration density, even with complex connection details and numerous repetitions.
