As part of the refurbishment of the circular fountain at Prager Platz, the entire old coating was first removed. To do this, the contractors milled the basin and cleaned it thoroughly to create an even and stable bonding surface. The system was then applied using Enkolan. No additional primer was required, as the single-component Enkolan waterproofing 1K LF can be applied directly to the prepared substrate.

First, the numerous connections and details were treated. These included recesses, wall connections, niches and vertical surfaces. These areas were carefully waterproofed using a fleece-reinforced system. The entire surface was then waterproofed in sections using the ‘wet-on-wet’ method. The Enke Polyflex fleece was laid bubble-free into the generously applied waterproofing layer and then fully covered with the top coat.

A clear advantage on this project was the flexible structure of the fleece. It allowed for precise adaptation to the rounded shape of the fountain and ensured reliable application even in complex areas. For additional stability and a uniform surface finish, the entire surface was sprinkled with kiln-dried quartz sand. The final step was the application of Enkolan sealing in RAL 7035 light grey. It was applied evenly and without streaks, ensuring a permanently attractive finish.
