Enkryl Long-Term Roof Refurbishment
Waterproofing that has proven its worth since the 1980s
Enkryl is a roof waterproofing system that is quick to apply and performs reliably even under challenging conditions. However, it is only over the years that its true value in everyday use becomes apparent. Two projects from the 1980s impressively demonstrate how durable Enkryl’s waterproofing is and how stable the system remains even under heavy use.
Enkryl and Polyflex fleece in long-term use
Testimonials from Düren and at RWE Power
Enkryl is particularly suitable for complex roof geometries and challenging substrates. The system is applied cold, requires no open flame and can be applied quickly. When used in combination with Enke Polyflex fleece, it creates a mechanically robust waterproofing membrane that securely integrates flashings and penetrations.
At the flooring manufacturer Anker in Düren, various roof shapes and numerous details required refurbishment. Flat and monopitch roofs, shed structures, eaves, valleys and numerous penetrations placed high demands on both the materials and the workmanship. Using Enkryl and Polyflex fleece, the surfaces were efficiently waterproofed. Even after around 20 years, the roof surfaces remained in very good technical condition.
A second example comes from an RWE Power lignite grinding plant. Here, in addition to varying substrates and complex integration requirements, there were also heavy mechanical stresses caused by constant vibrations during ongoing plant operations. It was precisely under these conditions that Enkryl, reinforced with fleece, proved its worth and continues to provide reliable protection for the heavily stressed surfaces to this day.
These case studies demonstrate that Enkryl is not only a quick solution for challenging construction sites, but also a waterproofing system that delivers long-term performance. The system really comes into its own particularly when short completion times are required, technical constraints exist or there are persistently high levels of stress.
