So much for being a wallflower. Even planters can get a proper makeover if the right system is used.

As part of a comprehensive refurbishment project at a flat-roofed complex, just under 100 large planters were re-waterproofed and given a visual makeover. The company T&S Wolf from Unadingen was entrusted with this special task.

Sophisticated details, expertly executed

The task was technically challenging: the existing troughs were to be fully and sustainably waterproofed. At the same time, the design had to ensure that the components were seamlessly joined together and, in particular, that the front transition area to the surface waterproofing was constructed without maintenance joints.

Added to this were numerous details and specific requirements: inner corners, outer corners, penetrations, construction joints, large contiguous vertical surfaces, a long service life, standing water and potential root penetration.

The solution: Enkolan.

Waterproofing with Enkolan
Implemented to a high standard

Enkolan is suitable for demanding waterproofing tasks where reliable application and long-term durability are required. The product is single component, soivent free, odourless, alkali- and root-resistant, and can be applied to mineral substrates without the need for a Primer.

Under expert guidance from the Enke field service team, the nearly 100 planters were first professionally waterproofed using Enkolan, including a Polyflex fleece insert. Subsequently, at the customer’s request, the visible areas were sprinkled with quartz sand and additionally sealed.

The result demonstrates how functional waterproofing can be transformed into a neat, visually appealing solution. The planters now blend harmoniously back into the overall landscape and are, at the same time, ready for future use.

Expertly carried out by T&S Wolf. All that remains now is the final planting.
