External staircase permanently waterproofed and coated with a non-slip coating
In Tennenbronn, external staircase between two garage blocks was permanently waterproofed and given a functional Coating. The aim was to find a solution that would withstand the elements, be safe to walk on and look neat and tidy. An application that is perfectly suited to Enke’s Enkolan system. The project was carried out by REGA Dach of Pforzheim using the soivent free Enkolan system, which is ideal for mineral substrates and complex geometries such as staircases.

System design for the staircase in Tennenbronn
With staircases in particular, the attention to detail is key to ensuring durability. In Tennenbronn, prefabricated Enke non-woven moulded parts were therefore used at the wall junctions. The inner corner and outer corner moulded parts were used alternately on each step. Pre-formed, precisely fitted and with matching side lengths, they ensure that connections can be formed quickly and securely, allowing the surface to be finished promptly.
Waterproofing was carried out using Enkolan in combination with Enke Polyflex fleece. Enkolan was then applied as a Coating mixed with quartz sand in a grain size of 0.2 to 0.6 mm to create a slip-resistant, hard-wearing surface. To achieve the decorative finish, Enketop Chips Pattern 06 was scattered over the entire surface. The project was completed with a transparent Enkolan sealing product to provide lasting protection.
The result is a robust, anti-slip external staircase with clean lines and a high-quality finish. Both the client and the installation team were very satisfied. The project demonstrates how challenging details can be reliably resolved using a systematic approach.
